During this year’s Season of Creation 2020, Catholic Climate Covenant is pleased to host a webinar series, “On the Common Good & Our Common Home,” for U.S. Catholics to:

  • Understand how Catholic social teaching (CST) and creation care are essential to the fullness of faith and the Church’s mission;
  • Facilitate courageous conversations about climate change and Catholic civic participation;
  • Apply Catholic Social Teaching, including creation care, to form one’s conscience ahead of the 2020 elections.

Season of Creation, celebrated annually between September 1st and October 4th, is a special time for Christians. As we are called to renew our faith in the God of all creation and join in prayer and action for the care of our common home, we hope this webinar series will help us on our journey of love in action.

Speakers discussed not only the importance of particular issues when discerning, but also candidate character and moral values.

Presenters included:

  • Daniel R. DiLeo, PhD, Catholic moral theologian and director of Creighton University’s Justice and Peace Studies Program
  • Jill Rauh, director of Education and Outreach in the Department of Justice, Peace, and Human Development at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops

Webinar #4: Feast of St. Francis Virtual Program - GUIDED RECORDING NOW AVAILABLE!

The 4th webinar in the series is a virtual guided walk-through of the 2020 Feast of St. Francis program for groups, parishes, families and individuals to follow along at your convenience. The guided recording contains prayers, readings, a short video, suggested activities, and ends by offering ways to act.

The program is framed through St. Francis’ famous prayer, the Canticle of Creatures, which he wrote while in the midst of great suffering, to help illuminate our current journey from a time of pandemic, indifference to climate change, and political partisanship to a place of healing through God, in both our relationship with each other and with Creation.

You can also download all the resources that are part of the program here to follow along with the video. Share or host a program with your family, parish, school, or religious community!
