As President Joe Biden urged global cooperation at the United Nations to combat climate change, a coalition of U.S. Catholic organizations is calling on his administration to use debt relief as a means to "unlock critical funding" for countries most vulnerable to the impacts of a rapidly heating world.
In what is thought to have been the largest climate change rally since 2019, an estimated crowd of as many as 75,000 demonstrators from some 700 organizations and activist groups paraded through the streets of New York City Sept. 17 in the "March to End Fossil Fuels."
Washington, DC - On Sunday Sept 17th Catholic youth will hold a press
conference before joining the March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City with
thousands of concerned people and climate activists. After historic heat waves this
summer, and inspired by their faith, young Catholics are calling for urgent action to
address the climate crisis and an end to reliance on fossil fuels.
